Terms for using Watermark in Word, the free online DOC and DOCX watermark tool. Learn about permitted use, file handling and output limitations.
1. Using the service
These terms apply when you use Watermark in Word to upload, watermark and download documents. Use the service only if you can agree to these terms and are authorized to handle the files you submit. If you act for an organization, make sure its policies permit this use.
2. Free Word watermarking
The current document watermark features are free. No subscription or payment is needed to add text or image watermarks. File size, format and batch limits shown in the tool still apply. Availability and supported features may change; the tool is not a permanent document storage service.
3. Your files and permissions
You retain your rights in your documents, text and images. You permit us to process and store them to provide the requested service as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for permission to use any logo, copyrighted material or personal information included in your files.
4. Acceptable use
Do not submit unlawful content, infringe others’ rights, bypass access controls, disrupt the service or use uploads as a file relay or public hosting service. Do not attempt to overload the tool or evade its limits. Access may be limited where necessary to address abuse or protect service operation.
5. Passwords and document handling
Only provide a document’s opening password when you have permission to access it. A watermark is a visible label, not encryption or a copying restriction. Keep a separate original and download your results promptly. Removing a file from the page removes its workspace record; it does not request immediate deletion from server storage. Supplying an opening password authorizes the requested processing; it does not guarantee that the output keeps the input’s encryption or editing restrictions. Check the output’s protection separately before sharing.
6. Preview and output limitations
Style previews are simulations. Document structure, fonts, section settings and editor compatibility may change the final appearance. Conversions can fail or produce unexpected layout changes. Check every downloaded document before relying on it or distributing it; we do not promise identical rendering in all Word-compatible applications.
7. Availability and responsibility
The service is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, error-free conversion or recovery of deleted files. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses arising from reliance on unreviewed output or failure to keep backups. These terms do not exclude rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

Updates are dated at the top of this page. The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy describe data handling; no paid subscription or payment obligation is created by these terms.
